Radar is showing some rain (possibly mixed with some wet snow) in NW Iowa this morning. This will gradually move to the east as the morning progresses. The precipitation will likely start out as rain before switching to a mix or all snow by this evening and into the overnight hours.
Accumulation totals are expected to be between 1-3 inches mainly in the southern portions of the state, where more moisture is expected to be this evening and overnight, but isolated higher totals could be possible. Winter Weather Advisories could be issued later this morning or this afternoon for areas that may receive heavier amounts.
Road Conditions should not be effected by this snow storm as road temperatures will be well above freezing for the entire event, however some less traveled roadways may see a bit of snow on them. Grassy areas will also see some of the snowfall as well, but like the road temperatures, ground temperatures are also above freezing so much of the snow at the beginning will likely melt on contact.
The snow will move out of the state in the late morning or early afternoon hours of Saturday, with Sunday being dry but cooler with highs in the 30s and lower 40s statewide.
