Forecats continue to show a storm moving into the state on Saturday with a chance of light rain that will last until early Sunday morning across the eastern sections of the state. Amounts are expected to be light with a quarter inch of rain or less possible. Some of the precipitation may be mixed with some sleet and snow in the far northern sections of the state late in the afternoon and evening hours of Saturday.
The second storm that was expected to move in on Monday into Tuesday has been taking out of the forecast for the time being. Many of the latest model runs going back to yesterday have been pushing this storm further and further to the south, and the latest run has almost no precipitation for the state on Monday or Tuesday. This will help keep any flooding that may occur over the next few days with only the one storm to effect the area on Saturday along with more melting of the snow pack.
River flooding is still possible this weekend into early next week even without the storm on Monday and Tuesday, especially with the large amounts of snow still on the ground in the northern and western sections of the state where snow depths are still over 12 inches in many locations.
