Rain and Snow Moving In

Some light rain and light snow has moved into the western portions of the state this afternoon. Temperatures have risen above freezing across most of the state except the east and NE, where readings are still in the upper 20s to the lower 30s. Some stations are reporting either light rain or light snow at this time. The precipitation will continue its slow movement to the NE, overspreading the state by this evening. Winter Weather Advisories still remain in effect in western Iowa, where the most snow is still expected to occur. 3-5 inches of snow is possible in western Iowa, with 1-3 inches in the east. More advisories are possible later tonight. The snow will end late on Friday or early Saturday morning.
