Roads are still in bad shape early this morning, especially in the western and central portions of the state. I-35 is still closed from Ames to the Minnesota Border. IA Hwy 3 is closed from Waverly to Dakota City. US Hwy 20 is closed near the I-35 interchange. US Hwy 18 is also closed in the Mason City area. Numerous roads still have travel not advised including I-35, I-80 and I-29. Winter Weather Advisories continue through mid-morning in eastern, central and northern Iowa. Sunshine is expected to come out later today before more clouds move in later tonight ahead of the next storm system which is expected in the state Wednesday. Only an inch or so of snow is likely with that storm with most of the moisture setting up to the south of the state.
