Here Comes the Cold

The cold front has swept through the state this morning. Temperatures early this afternoon across the state were still in the upper 20s to middle 30s, but gusty W to NW winds will continue to keep temperatures from going any higher today. There is no precipitation in the state currently except for a few snow flurries or light drizzle. Some light snow can be expected later tonight and Monday with some light accumulations up to an inch or two. The big story now is the wind, which will continue blowing out of the W/NW at 15-25mph with gusts exceeding 40mph at times.

In this upcoming week, readings will be near average for late January with highs in the teens and 20s and lows in the single digits and teens. Some light snow is possible on Wednesday, otherwise the week will remain rather dry.
