All of Iowa, Winter Weather

The Weekend Storm

Fog and some drizzle continues this afternoon, but more pronounced precipitation has moved into the western part of the state. Some of this precipitation may start out as Freezing rain or sleet before temperatures warm enough to switch it all to rain. Saturday will be a raw and rainy day statewide. Amounts up to 3/4 of an inch will be possible, with some locations receiving more if any thunderstorms develop. Temperatures on Saturday will be the warmest over the next week, with highs generally in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Rain will continue into Saturday night as readings slip into the 30s. The rain may mix with and change to snow Sunday, but amounts will be light. A better chance of snow across the state will be on Monday. Temperatures will drop next week back into the teens and 20s for highs with nighttime lows in the teens with a few single digits possible. We may even see a big ball of bright light that hasn’t been seen with regularity in over a week. I think it’s called the sun!
