Watches issued for Wednesday

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the western 2/3rds of the state. The following counties are under the Winter Storm Watch, Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster, Wright, Audubon, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford, Dallas, Greene, Guthrie, Jasper, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Story, Tama, Warren, Appanoose, Davis, Decatur, Ringgold, Taylor, Wayne, Adair, Adams, Cass, Clarke, Lucas, Madison, Monroe, Union, Wapello, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Ida, Plymouth, Woodbury, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie and Shelby. More watches are expected to be issued.

Freezing rain is expected to move in later tonight into tomorrow morning. Amounts will generally be under 1/4 of an inch with higher amounts possible. Some sleet and snow may mix in with the freezing rain as well.
