A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect at Midnight tonight as the new year begins and will expire at 9am Friday morning for the following counties, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cerro Gordo, Crawford, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Kossuth, Marshall, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Story, Tama, Webster, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek.

Winds of 10-15mph in connection with temperatures expected to be in the single digits below zero tomorrow morning will bring wind chills down to between -20 and -25. This will last through at least mid-morning Friday.
