Above is the 18z GFS Model at 6am Wednesday morning December 9th. It shows a deepening low moving NE across Missouri and Illinois. This puts Iowa in a perfect location for heavy snow accumulations by mid-week. A smaller storm will move in Monday followed by the one shown here late Tuesday into Wednesday. This could change however, but snow is in the forecast from Monday-Wednesday. Some accumulations of over 6 inches could be possible. Better estimates will come by this weekend.
