The string of colder than average weather for this time of year is coming to an end. An Indian summer of sorts will move into the state and stay around through at least Wednesday. Temperatures will be in the 60s for highs, with lows generally in the 30s to around 40. The next chance of rain will move in Tuesday and last through early on Friday. Some of the rain might be heavy at times, no forseeable cold snap is seen at least for the upcoming week into next weekend.
This weekend was one of the best to go look at the changing leaves across the northeastern parts of the state. The color is a bit subdued this year, but there is some great color along the Mississippi River north of Dubuque. Peak color will occur next weekend across most of the rest of the state.
