Frost, then Severe Weather?

A frost advisory has been issued for tonight and tomorrow morning for the eastern and northeastern parts of the state. This includes the counties of Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Floyd, Chickasaw, Fayette, Clayton, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Cedar and Clinton. Temperatures will likely fall to the freezing mark tomorrow morning, leading to the possiblity of frost. The advisory is in effect through mid morning Wednesday. Then attention turns to the SEVERE WEATHER that is forecast Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked the western part of the state in a slight risk of severe weather. The main threat at this time looks to be from large hail, with damaging winds being a secondary threat. Another slight risk envelopes the southwestern half of the state for Thursday. The main severe weather episode will be to the south of the state, but some large hail could be possible in the state that afternoon and evening as a cold front moves into the state from the west. It will be an interesting couple of days in the state.
