A few showers have popped up this afternoon across the eastern part of the state. The showers are mainly along a line from Cedar Rapids to Waterloo. They haven’t moved much in the last hour and are raining themselves out. More showers are expected to develop this afternoon with any daytime heating or sunshine that pops out of the clouds today. The best chance for any of this activity will be in the eastern half of the state. If you get under one of these isolated showers, the rain may become heavy for a brief time and a quick 1/4 inch is possible. The rain chances will move out after sunset this evening, with drier and cooler weather coming by Monday.
