A nearly two hour long traffic jam as we headed back to the hotel from the San Fernando Valley today. We headed up to Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studio. This morning, there was no marine layer, so temperatures quickly shot up to near 100. The Bob Hope Airport in Burbank (which was visible from Universal Studios had a high temperature of 98 degrees.) There was a lot of smog in the air which was visible in the shots I took from an overlook near the Coke Soak at Universal. Early in the afternoon, we made our way over to Warner Borthers, where we finally ran into a STAR! Although I could not take pictures at the time of the sighting (which was UP CLOSE!), we did see Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory on CBS. Then came the nearly 2 hour traffic jam on the way from the San Fernando Valley through downtown Los Angeles (don’t drive through at 5pm like we ended up doing) back to the hotel near the airport. The best part of the trip, watching a tire tear itself up on a semi-truck as it was heading down the Harbor Freeway south of downtown for over 20 minutes.
