Renegade Showers

A few showers have traversed into the western part of the state this afternoon and evening. Any rain that falls will remain light and will mainly stay west of US Hwy 59. The rest of the state will remain dry through the middle of the Labor Day Weekend. The showers area a part of a upper level feature and stationary front over Nebraska that has sparked off a few showers and thunderstorms over Nebraska and South Dakota this afternoon. There were even a few reports of tornadoes this afternoon in South Dakota from some of the storms. This feature will move SE into Kansas and Missouri over the next few days taking the chances of rain with them. Only the extreme western part of the state will see any chance of rain before another system approaches on Sunday into Labor Day.
