* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR…
DES MOINES COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST IOWA…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF BURLINGTON…
EAST CENTRAL LEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST IOWA…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF FORT MADISON…
NORTH CENTRAL HANCOCK COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS…
WESTERN HENDERSON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF OQUAWKA…

* AT 917 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WHICH COULD CAUSE FLASH FLOODING IN THE WARNED AREA. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE IN NORTHEASTERN LEE COUNTY AND NORTHWESTERN HANCOCK COUNTY…JUST NORTH OF A FORT MADISON…DALLAS CITY LINE. THE STORMS WERE MOVING SLOWLY EAST PRODUCING RAINFALL AT THE RATE OF 2 OR MORE INCHES AN HOUR.

ALSO..RUNOFF FROM THE EXTREMELY HEAVY RAINS THAT FELL OVER EASTERN HENRY COUNTY EARLIER MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING ALONG PORTIONS OF FLINT CREEK IN THE SOUTHERN HALF OF DES MOINES COUNTY.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO WEST BURLINGTON…MIDDLETOWN…MEDIAPOLIS…DENMARK…GULFPORT AND CARMAN
