There has already been a severe thunderstorm warning issued in NW Iowa, but it has since expired. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued over an hour ago until 3am for Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Sioux counties. Thunderstorms are currently moving into the state, but are weakening. A few more may redevelop and may contain large hail and damaging winds if they do so. The greatest threat area for severe weather this evening and overnight will be along and north of US Hwy 20.
