A cold front is expected to move into the state tonight and should be situated in central Iowa by sunrise tomorrow morning. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible along and ahead of the front. None of the activity is expected to be severe. Rainfall will be heaviest in the western part of the state with lighter amounts further to the east. As much as 1/2 inch of rain is possible with heavier amounts in thunderstorms. The front will move out of the state early Saturday afternoon, taking the chances of rain with it. This should not effect the NASCAR Nationwide Race at Newton Saturday afternoon. Another chance of rain is possible Sunday night into Monday.
