The Rain Haves and Have Nots

070409Parts of the state got little if any rain from the latest storm system to move through the state, meanwhile other parts of the state recieved a full month’s worth of rain in 24 hours, with areas along a line extending from Atlantic to Lamoni receiving anywhere between 3-5 inches with some estimated amounts close to 7 inches! Numerous rivers are now under Flood Warnings in the southern and southwestern part of the state due to the heavy amounts of rain. many locations south of Interstate 80 recieved at least an inch with lighter amounts to the north. Northeast Iowa got less than a 1/4 inch of precipitation. Clouds will stick around the rest of the afternoon into this evening, but firework displays should not be effected. Sunshine will return on Sunday with temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
