July begins today, and with that 6 months have past, with another 6 months to go. Above is the temperature departures for 7 major reporting stations in Iowa. As is seen on the chart, Des Moines is above the typical normal for the first six months of the year. Burlington and Sioux City are just slightly ahead of normal, while Waterloo, Dubuque, Mason City and Cedar Rapids are all below the typical normal for the first six months of the year. It will be interesting to see if this will continue for the last six months of the year. A post on precipitation for the first six months will be posted later this afternoon.
