All of Iowa

Quiet for Now

In the last few hours another storm complex moved across the state with some very heavy rain and strong winds. That complex is now into Illinois. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued and several warnings were in effect. I for one was stuck in a parking lot in one of those storms this morning while trying to get things done before this afternoon’s action. New storms will likely refire again in a few hours. Large Hail (some could be VERY large), destructive winds, and tornadoes (some significant) are possible in the moderate risk area which is mainly from Interstate 80 on to the north. The rest of the state remains in a slight risk. There is also a moderate risk tomorrow for the eastern side of the state.
