All of Iowa

Consistently Inconsistent

The forecast will make people pull their hair out. Forecasters predicted heavy rain was going to fall last night into this morning across the southern part of the state. Hardly a drop of rain fell. Today was projected to be cloudy with intermittent showers and temperatures in the 60s. Some parts of the state are waking up to clear skies and sunshine. Now it might not rain at all today. There’s a chance now it might rain tonight into Thursday in Western Iowa, (I’ll believe it when I see it) There’s a projected warmup predicted for late this weekend into the first part of next week. Who knows if that’s going to happen? The culprit to all this inconsistent weather is a stationary front situated to the south of the state. The boundary was forecast to be about 150 miles further north than it currently is located. Because of that, rain has been almost taken out of the forecast for the next few days, (but it could be put back in at any time given what’s been happening lately). Temperatures will still be in the 70s the rest of the week with an 80 or two in western Iowa. Nighttime readings will be mainly in the 50s. No Severe Weather is expected at least for the next week. (but that could change as well!)
