Slight and Moderate Risks Sunday

The latest severe weather risks have been issued from the Storm Prediction Center. There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight south of a line from Sioux City to Osage. There is an enhanced moderate risk for the southwestern part of the state southwestward into Kansas. The main threats will be large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. This will depend on the current severe MCS moving through the southwestern part of the state early this morning. If the sky can clear later this morning or early this afternoon, storms will fire along a nearly stationary front that is draped across the state. These storms will have the capability to produce what has been mentioned above, with the best chances mainly occurring south and west of Des Moines. Later statements will likely be issued.
