Active Weather for The Weekend

A few more quiet days are in store for the state. Temperatures will be near or slightly below normal for the next week, with highs generally in the 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s. S storm system will move into the state late on Friday, bringing the renewed chance of showers and thunderstorms to the state. There is a slight risk of severe weather for Friday and Friday night for areas in Iowa around the Omaha metro area. On Saturday, the risk spreads out to include most of Iowa except the eastern part of the state. There is a risk also denoted for Sunday which would include almost the entire state once again. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats with this storm, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out. More will be known in the days to come.
