After a cool morning this morning, there will be another chance for severe weather later this afternoon into tonight for portions of northwestern Iowa. Currently dewpoints across the state are in the 30s and 40s, way too dry for any type of severe weather to develop. However, dewpoints are expected to rise into the 50s. Thunderstorms are expected to develop in South Dakota and Nebraska later this afternoon and push into the state this evening. Large Hail and damaging winds will likely be the main threats with this activity if it develops. There is a larger threat area for severe weather on Monday, mainly south of US Hwy 20. The threats on Monday, would be large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado. It’s too early to determine whether or not this activity will occur or not since there’s been a “drought” of severe weather that has occurred in the state over the last several weeks. Stay Tuned!
