The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch which goes into effect at 6am Friday morning and will be in effect until 6pm Friday evening for the following counties, Benton, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington. The National Weather Service in Des Moines has also issued a Flash Flood Watch which goes into effect at 7am Friday morning and will be in effect until 7pm Friday evening for the following counties, Appanoose, Clarke, Davis, Decatur, Jasper, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Union, Wapello, Warren and Wayne. There is also a Flash Flood Watch in effect for Lee County in SE Iowa in effect from 6am Friday morning until 10pm Friday night. Heavy rain is expected to fall over already saturated soil from rainfall recieved on Wednesday. This could lead to flash flooding on area creeks and streams. Some river flooding may be possible next week as well.
