There is a slight risk of Severe Weather for today and tonight for the eastern 3/4ths of Iowa. There is a moderate risk within the slight risk area for portions of southeast Iowa southeast of a line from the Quad Cities to Bloomfield. Large Hail, damaging winds and tornadoes will be the main threats in the moderate risk area, with mainly large hail the threat farther to the west. This moderate risk area has been slowly moving to the NW ever since it was included on the Day 3 Outlook on Monday. Thunderstorms will likely develop along the advancing cold front in central or east central Iowa early this afternoon. These storms may have the capability of producing tornadoes in the moderate risk area, HOWEVER there is a chance of tornadoes in most of the slight risk area in the state as well. During the tornado that occurred on April 26th. The risk for tornadoes according to the Storm Prediction Center was 2%. Most of eastern Iowa is in a 5% risk with 10% in the moderate risk zone. Most of the storms will exit the state after sunset this evening and the sky will be clear by Thursday morning. Another round of potentially severe weather will move into the state again on Friday into Saturday.
