The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect starting at 1pm and will expire at 10am Sunday morning for the following counties in Iowa, Jackson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Washington, Louisa, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, Van Buren and Lee. The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter Storm Warning beginning at Noon and will be in effect until 1am Sunday morning for Wapello and Davis counties. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued beginning at Noon and is in effect until 1am for the following counties, Appanoose, Monroe and Wayne. A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued beginning at 1pm and will expire at 10am Sunday morning for the following counties, DVN issues Winter Weather Advisory valid at Mar 28, 1:00 PM CDT for Benton, Buchanan, Delaware, Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk, Linn, Dubuque and Jones. Snow is beginning late this morning and will continue throughout today into tonight, tapering off early Sunday morning. Accumulations will range between 4-8 inches in the winter storm warning area, tapering off to around 2-4 inches in the advisory area. This is the first snow storm in several weeks, so this will be similiar to the first snow of the year all over again. Be very careful driving later today and tonight.
