The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center still shows a slight risk of Severe Weather for today and tonight in the western 3 quarters of the state, mainly west of the Avenue of the Saints (West of a line from Mount Pleasant to Iowa City to Cedar Rapids to Waterloo to Mason City). Large hail and damaging winds are still the main threats with this system, but an isolated tornado or two are not out of the question, especially areas west and south of Des Moines. The better chances for tornadoes however will be in the moderate risk area in Kansas and Oklahoma, where some long tracked tornadoes may be possible.
