Showers and embedded Thunderstorms are moving across northern Iowa tonight. Some of these storms may drop a lot of rain within a short period of time. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Mesoscale discussion which can be viewed here. The heaviest rain at just past Midnight was located from Spirit Lake and the Iowa Lakes Region eastward to Algona and southward to Fort Dodge. Elsewhere scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm will effect the state with lighter amounts of rain. The main event of rain will hold off until Monday afternoon and Monday night.
