The next storm is likely to bring heavy rain to the state over the next couple of days. Beginning late Sunday showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the state. Rainfall amounts over the next 5 days shows that at least 1-2 inches of rain with 3 inch totals are likely. This could lead to more flooding over area rivers. Severe Weather may be possible over western Iowa on Monday, with non-severe thunderstorms occurring late Sunday and again on Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk of Severe Weather outlined for the Loess Hills region of Iowa for Monday and Monday night. The main risk is likely to be large hail.
