Today is the first day of Spring with the sun having crossed the equator at 6:44 this morning. Springlike weather will come forth over the first few days of the new season with highs moving back into the 50s and 60s. A big storm system is forecast to move in Monday and Tuesday of next week. This will bring showers and thunderstorms to the state with the slight chance of some severe weather mainly in the western part of the state on Monday. Heavy rainfall is a possibility which could lead to more flooding on area rivers that have just fallen below flood stage less than a week ago. Models have also shown a possibility of another cold snap coming in with some snow. It’s too early to determine whether we get any of the white stuff toward the end of the month, but it wouldn’t be out of the question to see some snow even well into April.
