A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 4am Thursday morning until 9pm Thursday evening for Lyon, O’Brien and Sioux Counties in NW Iowa. There the precipitation will begin as freezing rain before changing to all snow. Total amounts of ice will be around a tenth of an inch. 2-4 inches of snow will fall after the switchover. Winter Storm Watches remain in effect in Iowa mainly along and north of Iowa Hwy 3. (Post was not posted on the Watch issuance this morning due to techinical error) The watch is in effect beginning Thursday morning and will be in effect through Thursday evening (between 9pm and 12am). An update on the watches and warnings will likely come later this afternoon or tonight.
