Cool Dry Air

Winds have slackened off today as cool dry air has moved into the state. Dewpoints at midday are in the single digits and lower teens, which means a very cold night in store tonight as the temperature settles down to the dewpoint. Actual readings are in the teens and 20s. A clipper system is forecast to sweep into the state on Friday, bringing a good chance of accumulating snow. Accumulations of at least 3 inches or more will be possible by the time the storm departs on Saturday morning. Strong winds will accompany the storm as well, leading to blowing and drifting snow and possible travel difficulties on Saturday.
