Even with a snow storm moving through the state today, flooding continues on some rivers in the state because of the recent snow melt. The Little Sioux River at Cherokee and Spencer along with the Big Sioux River at Akron and Hawarden continue under Flood Warnings through at least Saturday. The Raccoon River in the Des Moines metro also remains under a Flood Warning along with the Iowa River at Marengo. Ice jams continue on many rivers throughout the state and any jam will make the river up stream from the jam rise quickly which could lead to more flooding. Webster County is under a Flash Flood Watch for such an occurance on the Des Moines River.
