The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Winter Storm Warning which will go into effect at 9am Friday morning and be in effect until Midnight Saturday Morning for the following counties in Iowa, Monona, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont and Page.
LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP FRIDAY MORNING…BECOMING HEAVY LATER
FRIDAY MORNING…AND CONTINUING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. THE
ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL TAPER TO FLURRIES FROM WEST TO EAST…FIRST
IN NEBRASKA AND THEN ACROSS SOUTHWEST IOWA DURING THE EVENING.
STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES ARE FORECAST WITH
LOCALLY HIGH AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. EAST WINDS AT 10 TO 25 MPH WILL
SHIFT TO THE NORTH DURING THE DAY AT 15 TO 30 MPH WITH BLOWING AND
DRIFTING OF SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES. TEMPERATURES SHOULD
MAINLY REMAIN STEADY 25 TO 30 DURING THE DAY.
