Today will be the last day of spring-like weather for awhile. Temperatures today will be at record or near record levels with highs in the 50s and 60s. Winds at midday have already switched to the west in western Iowa and this will bring the colder weather down. A storm system that will move just to the south of the state will produce widespread severe weather there and clip the SE half of the state with a few showers late tonight into Wednesday. Some of the precip may switch over to light snow or flurries Wednesday afternoon before ending. Temperatures will then fall back to the 30s and low 40s for highs with lows in the 20s for the rest of the week.
