We’re moving into an extended stretch of mild weather, a February thaw. Temperatures already late this morning have recovered into the 20s and 30s across the state. Highs today will top out in the upper 30s to the lower 50s. (Coldest where there is still a snowpack). Temperatures will continue warming Friday with readings reaching 40 almost statewide with 50s likely south of Interstate 80 where there isn’t much snow at all. Friday night there is a slight chance for rain or a bit of ice but the amounts will be so slight. More melting of snow will continue over the weekend before the next storm moves in on Monday. This is one to look at for as we will likely be on the warm side of this storm, a good chance of rain will be possible then and a thunderstorm may not be out of the question then either. As with any thaw that occurs, some fog will be possible in the snowpack areas beginning tomorrow morning. Dense Fog Advisiories may be issued as warranted.
