A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until Saturday morning for the following counties, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama and Warren until 9am and for Adair, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Sac and Webster counties until 6am. The Winter Weather Advisory which was in effect for Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine and Scott counties has been extended until 9am Saturday morning as well.

Moderate to heavy snow will continue throughout the night with total accumulations of 2-5 inches possible in the advisory area. Some of this has already fallen and the snow is beginning to taper off in far western Iowa now.
