An interesting setup will occur this weekend as temperatures rise above freezing. First a storm will plunge arctic cold into the west, while a ridge develops in the east, allowing warmer weather to move into the state. Most of the precip on Sunday will be in the form of rain, but this could change as the time approaches. What is uncertain is whether the storm’s moisture is fully through the state before the reenforcing shot of colder weather comes in on Monday. Nevertheless, the warmer weather will allow some melting of the snow which could lead to some wet roads from snowmelt to refreeze at night. Some slick spots might be possible on some less traveled roads Saturday night and again Sunday night.
