Up early this morning and the wind has come, with some rain. Temperatures are still holding in the 40s and 50s statewide with gusty NW winds approaching 40 mph. Light to moderate rain was falling (not sure if it was hitting the ground, probably going sideways) mostly along the US Hwy 30 corridor from Clinton to Cedar Rapids to Tama to Marshalltown to Ames. Another batch of light rain was located along the Interstate 80 corridor from Des Moines to Omaha. This rain is moving very quickly eastward and with it strong gusty winds are being reported. In SE Iowa and in NW Iowa, there is no strong winds being reported, so the main wind event for later on today (Sunday) has not arrived as yet, but in anycase this is a tease of what it will be like after sunrise later this morning.
