Cold Snap in the Near Future?

Several model runs have shown a possible cold snap coming into Iowa around the 20-22nd of October that could bring down very cold air for the season. The first hard freeze could occur at that time with temperatures possibly falling into the 20s throughout the state with highs struggling to make the mid 40s. This is, however 11-13 days out into the future but this has been seen on several runs of the GFS. For example Accuweather.com’s forecast at my locations for the 20th-22nd shows highs of 52, 49 and 48, with lows of 29, 28 and 29. Our possible first snow could also occur from this as well. A few more model runs will better determine if this trend will continue.
