Model runs are beginning to show a drastic cool off next weekend and into the week after with highs at least 20 degrees cooler then they have been. Of course this is looking over a week ahead of time, but the models have been building a reserve of very cold air in the Arctic and any storm that moves through may tap some of it and bring the first frost of the year to the state.
This map is forecasted out 300 hours at 7am Thursday morning October 2nd. Note the Canadian High Pressure near Fargo ND.
In the interim however, temperatures will remain in the 70s and lower 80s through mid week. Enjoy them while they last, there won’t be many left for the rest of the year.
