Models have slowed Hurricane Ike down thus the storm this weekend will not have any moisture from Ike. Ike will move just south of the state Tuesday and may bring a few showers to the southern part then. Rainfall from this weekend will still be up to 1 inch in some areas with isolated heavier totals, thus the Iowa vs Iowa State football game on Saturday will be dreary.

Temperatures will be at or just below average through the weekend. After record lows Tuesday morning in Burlington and a tie in Ottumwa, lows will move back into the 50s for the rest of the week while highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 80s through the weekend. Next week will be slightly cooler but still around average for Mid September.
