The latest drought monitor shows that parts of western Iowa are now in moderate drought. This was a part of the state that was the least effected by the June floods and by Gustav’s moisture this past week. Also the drought that is taking place in parts of Minnesota is beginning to creep into northern Iowa.
17.7% of Iowa is abnormally dry or into moderate drought, which is up from 17.1% last week.
