Gustav’s outer bands are about to move into Iowa this afternoon. The rainfall will be very heavy in the eastern part of the state. The new QPF has rainfall amounts around 5 inches along the Mississippi River with amounts over 1 inch east of a Marquette to Mount Ayr line with 3 inches likely east of a line from Bellevue to Centerville. There could be a possibility of flooding mainly in the SE part of the state with the likely areas being in Illinois and Missouri. Rain could last through at least Saturday.
