The cold front is currently in the eastern part of the state. Most of the thunderstorms that are in extreme southern Iowa and northern Missouri are behind the front. Temperatures ahead of the front are in the mid 80s to lower 90s with heat indices over 100. Behind the front, a taste of autumn, temperatures in the 60s, lower humidity and breezy winds out of the northwest. The chances of rain will likely diminish the farther west, while a chance of rain lingers to the east.
