Tuesday’s Storm

The storm that were begin to move through tomorrow will likely not have Gustav’s moisture at first so rainfall amounts will generally be up to 1/2 inch. However by late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning some of the moisture from Gustav may be pulled into the coming storm thus the rainfall amounts may reach 1 inch mainly east of a Dubuque to Ottumwa line. The heaviest rain will remain well south of the state where Gustav could dump 1-2 feet of rain. Severe Weather is not antcipated with this storm but can’t be ruled out either. The first outlook at 1am will have a better estimation as to whether any of the storms tomorrow will be at or close to severe weather critieria.

After the storm moves past temperatures will be noticably cooler and the air much drier. Temperatures will be at least 10-12 degrees cooler than today and lows will be in the 50s with upper 40s in the cooler valley locations beginning Wednesday night and Thursday.
