The chances of rain will return to the state late tonight and will stick around through Saturday. There isn’t expected to be severe weather with this storm system, some heavy rainfall is a possibility. Right now August has been fairly dry across the state, and some yards have lost their lush green color. A good 1/2-3/4 inch of rain would be good right now but nothing over that. It seems like this year in Iowa when it rains, it pours. Temperatures should remain around average for the rest of this week and into the weekend, with upper 70s to mid 80s common across the state for highs and upper 50s to mid 60s for lows.
