At 5:30pm there were some isolated thunderstorms in the state. One was located between Dakota City and Pocahontas, another was located in northern Plymouth County in NW Iowa. These storms were moving SSE at about 25 mph. These storms will have the tendency of building up and dying down through sunset. Other storms may develop, mainly west of Interstate 35 where the sun has been out most of the afternoon. They may drop a few tenths of an inch of rain in very localized locations. Otherwise the sky will remain clear to partly cloudy (west of I-35) and decreasing clouds (east of I-35) through sunset.
