The storms have moved off to the east into Illinois leaving partly to mostly sunny skies in its wake. Temperatures where rain didn’t fall have risen into the mid to upper 80s with heat indices over 90 in many places. Another batch of thunderstorms is expected later this afternoon and tonight as daytime heating will destabilize the atmosphere once more. There is still a slight risk for severe weather mainly north of a line from Keokuk to Onawa. Threats are the same as earlier, large hail, damaging winds and a brief tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
